Ngā Mātua/ Parents and Caregivers
Welcome to the LAMS information centre for Parents and caregivers. This webpage is intended to share information about the the trial being conducted by Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Atihaunui ā Pāpārangi and the Ministry of Education. Parents and caregivers can find information about the benefits for their child in such a learning environment and how participating schools manage and implement such a tool as the e-learning management system known as LAMS.
What is LAMS?
LAMS is an electronic Learning Activity Management System that enables learners to participate in private or public learning activities created by teachers. It allows learners to particpate in these activities from within the classroom or at home using an Internet connected computer.
How does it work?
LAMS is a secure facility that requires users to login to participate in sequenced learning activities created by teachers. The learners are grouped into class sets to participate in individual and or group activities.
What types of activities will my child participate in?

There is no limit to the type of learning activities LAMS can facilitate. LAMS can cater for individual and group activities and learners can choose to participate at their own pace. Below is a list of activities learners can participate in within LAMS:
- Whole Class Contribution
- Access online and offline resources
- Participate in whole class forums
- Critically evaluate information
- Share Experiences
